National Identity Card Mandatory for Banking Services: Effective from Magh 1

According to a notification published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in the official gazette, starting from Magh 1, a national identity card or national identity card number will be mandatory to access various services. Previously, services were provided based on the citizenship certificate, but now a national identity card will be required.
Areas Where It Will Be Implemented:
- Revenue-Related Services: Personal income tax registration.
- Driver’s License: Services related to driver’s license.
- Company Registration and Renewal: Services related to company registration and renewal.
- Banking and Financial Services: Services related to banking and finance.
- Telephone and SIM Cards: Services related to telephone and SIM cards.
- Social Security Fund: Services related to the social security fund.
- Property Transactions: Services related to buying and selling property.
Social Security and Health Insurance:
- Social Security Allowance: Effective from Shrawan 1 in Kathmandu and 28 other districts.
- Health Insurance: Effective from Shrawan 1 in Kathmandu and 28 other districts.
- Pension Services: Effective from Shrawan 1 in Kathmandu and 28 other districts.
- Additional 38 Districts: National identity card mandatory from Magh 1.
- Remaining 11 Districts: National identity card mandatory from Shrawan 1, 2082.
This step aims to promote the use of the national identity card across the country and to make accessing services simpler and more organized.
