Finance Minister Presents Revenue Policy, Vows Business-Friendly Tax Regime

Kathmandu — Presenting the revenue policy and programme for the fiscal year 2083/84, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said the government aims to expand economic activity by developing a business-friendly tax policy, simple and clear tax laws, voluntary tax participation, and an efficient tax administration.

Wagle said the first objective is to develop a formal economy by connecting all economic transactions to digital means.

He said the second is to develop an automated, technology-friendly, integrity-driven, and motivated tax administration.

The Finance Minister said the third objective is to enhance revenue through voluntary tax participation.

He said the fourth is to mobilise non-tax revenue on the basis of cost recovery and ability to pay.
