The Finance Minister said a total of Rs 5.93 billion has been allocated for the information and communication sector.

Kathmandu — Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has announced various plans and allocations for the information and communication sector through the budget.
Wagle said a Telecommunications Authority Bill will be presented in Parliament. He said access to quality telecommunication services will be increased while accelerating the use of the latest technology, and that quality telephone services and network coverage will be expanded in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The Finance Minister said an integrated secure printing institution will be established by merging the various structures set up for government printing.
He said the government will encourage the expansion of commercial activities through social media platforms registered in Nepal.
Wagle said Rs 330 million has been allocated for public welfare advertising through print and electronic media.
