Nepal Rastra Bank Announces Vacancies for 34 Contractual Positions, Prioritizes Pensioners

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a vacancy notice seeking to hire 34 personnel on a contractual basis across six different roles. The central bank has opened its online application portal, allowing interested candidates to apply between Bhadra 9 and Bhadra 23.

According to the official notice, the highest demand is for office assistants, with 17 openings. Additionally, the bank is looking to recruit 10 drivers (seven light-vehicle and three bus drivers), four security personnel (sepoys), two dispensary staff, and one guard. Selected candidates will initially be offered a six-month contract and will be deployed to either the central headquarters or provincial offices as per institutional requirements.

The central bank has set a strict age limit of 45 years for all applicants. The eligibility criteria are highly specialized; the guard, sepoy, and office assistant positions are exclusively reserved for pension-holding retirees from the Nepal Army, government bodies, or financial institutions. Similarly, driver candidates must hold seven years of driving experience, while dispensary applicants are required to have a diploma in nursing or pharmacy coupled with five years of professional experience.

Prospective candidates must submit their applications through the 'Career' section on the NRB's official website. An examination fee of Rs 800 has been fixed, which can be processed through the online payment gateways available on the portal. The central bank stated that the final selection will be based on written, practical, and interview rounds—depending on the volume of applications—with all examinations scheduled to take place in Kathmandu.
