Policy and Structural Reforms Needed to Mature and Sustain the Stock Market : Finance Minister Paudel

Kathmandu, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has emphasized the need for policy and structural reforms to mature and sustainably advance the stock market. Speaking at an interaction program titled "Policy Reforms for Sustainable Economic Development" organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in Kathmandu on Sunday, he highlighted the importance of prioritizing the use of technology in the stock market.
Minister Paudel noted the recent encouraging growth in the stock market, stating that it reflects the state of the economy. He attributed the enthusiasm in the stock market to the government's policy initiatives and decisions, expressing the government's desire to make the stock market stable and balanced in the long term.
He also emphasized the government's serious stance on preventing insider trading and ensuring investor protection. Additionally, Minister Paudel stressed the need for policy and structural reforms, along with the use of technology, to mature the stock market.
He said, "The recent policies and monetary measures by the government have provided positive signals for revitalizing the economy. The stock market is a mirror of the economy, reflecting our economic condition. We aim to advance the stock market in a stable and balanced manner over the long term, which requires policy, structural, and technological improvements."
