भोटेकोशी र त्रिशूली नदीमा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीबाट प्रभावितहरूको तत्काल उद्धार तथा राहतका लागि एसियाली विकास बैंक (एडिबी) ले ५० लाख अमेरिकी डलर (करिब ७६ करोड रुपैयाँ) अनुदान दिने भएको छ। शुक्रबार एक विज्ञप्ति जारी गर्दै एडिबीले विपद्मा परेका नागरिकलाई तत्काल सहायता पुर्याउन उक्त आपत्कालीन सहयोग स्वीकृत गरेको जनाएको हो।
यो अनुदान रकम विशेषगरी प्रभावित क्षेत्रमा खाद्यान्न, शुद्ध खानेपानी, औषधि, अस्थायी बासस्थान, सरसफाइ र अत्यावश्यक उद्धार सामग्रीको व्यवस्थापनमा खर्च गरिनेछ। एडिबीका अध्यक्ष मासातो कान्दाले विपद्को घडीमा घरबारविहीन भएका नागरिकले सहयोगका लागि लामो समय कुर्न नसक्ने भएकाले ढिलाइ नगरी यो सहायता उपलब्ध गराइएको स्पष्ट पारेका छन्।
तत्कालको राहतसँगै दीर्घकालीन पुनर्निर्माणलाई पनि एडिबीले चासोमा राखेको छ। विपद्पछिको क्षतिको विस्तृत मूल्यांकन र भावी पुनर्निर्माणको खाका तयार पार्न बैंकले थप डेढ लाख डलर (१ लाख ५० हजार) को प्रक्रियासमेत अघि बढाएको छ। यो समग्र सहायता रकमलाई नेपाल सरकार, राष्ट्रिय विपद् जोखिम न्यूनीकरण तथा व्यवस्थापन प्राधिकरण र अन्य साझेदार निकायहरूको प्रत्यक्ष समन्वयमा परिचालन गरिने बैंकले जनाएको छ।
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $5 million (approximately NPR 760 million) grant for the immediate rescue and relief of those affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. Issuing a press release on Friday, the ADB announced the approval of this emergency assistance to ensure swift support reaches the disaster-stricken citizens.
The grant will be specifically utilized to manage food, clean drinking water, medicines, temporary shelters, sanitation, and essential rescue materials in the affected areas. Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, ADB President Masato Kanda stated that citizens left homeless by the disaster cannot afford to wait long for help, which is why the assistance is being deployed without delay.
Beyond immediate relief, the ADB has also prioritized long-term recovery. The bank has initiated the process to provide an additional $150,000 to conduct a detailed post-disaster needs assessment and to prepare a blueprint for future reconstruction. The ADB noted that the entire assistance package will be mobilized in direct coordination with the Government of Nepal, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), and other partner agencies.
