काठमाडौँ — धितोपत्र र बीमा क्षेत्रसँग जोडिएका विभिन्न कसुरमा संलग्न भई लामो समयदेखि फरार रहेका चार जना प्रतिवादीलाई नेपाल प्रहरीको केन्द्रीय अनुसन्धान ब्यूरो (सीआईबी) ले पक्राउ गरेको छ। नेपाल धितोपत्र बोर्ड र नेपाल बीमा प्राधिकरणबाट प्राप्त प्रारम्भिक जाँचबुझ प्रतिवेदनको आधारमा अनुसन्धान अगाडि बढाइएको यस प्रकरणमा उनीहरूलाई नियन्त्रणमा लिई आवश्यक कानुनी कारबाहीका लागि काठमाडौं जिल्ला अदालतमा पेस गरिएको छ।
पक्राउ पर्नेहरूमा हिमालयन इन्भेष्टमेन्ट बैंकर्स लिमिटेडका लगानी सदस्य सुभाष पौडेल, क्रेष्ट माइक्रो लाइफ इन्स्योरेन्स लिमिटेडकी सञ्चालक सुनिता महर्जन, नेपाल माइक्रो इन्स्योरेन्स लिमिटेडका सञ्चालक अनुप मालाकार र सोही कम्पनीकी सञ्चालक सुनिता श्रेष्ठ रहेका छन्। उनीहरूमाथि धितोपत्र सम्बन्धी ऐन, २०६३ र बीमा ऐन, २०७९ अन्तर्गतका विभिन्न कसुरमा संलग्न रहेको आरोप रहेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।
वित्तीय तथा नियमनकारी निकायको छानबिनपछि फरार रहेका व्यक्तिहरूलाई सीआईबीले विभिन्न स्थानबाट पक्राउ गरी अदालतको दायरामा ल्याएको हो। वित्तीय अपराध तथा ऐन उल्लङ्घनका यस्ता घटनामा संलग्न अन्य व्यक्तिहरूको खोजी कार्य पनि तीव्र पारिएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।
Kathmandu — The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested four individuals who had been evading law enforcement over alleged offenses under the Securities Act, 2063, and the Insurance Act, 2079. Following preliminary investigation reports submitted by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) and the Nepal Insurance Authority, the CIB apprehended the suspects and presented them before the Kathmandu District Court for necessary legal proceedings.
Those taken into custody include Subhash Poudel, a 42-year-old investment member of Himalayan Investment Bankers Limited, and Sunita Maharjan, a 41-year-old board member of Crest Micro Life Insurance Limited, both linked to financial regulatory breaches. The other detainees are Anup Malakar, 45, and Sunita Shrestha, 39, both serving as board members of Nepal Micro Insurance Limited, who were wanted for violations under the Insurance Act.
The arrests mark a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on financial and corporate non-compliance flagged by the country's primary regulatory watchdogs. Police stated that investigations into the broader scope of these financial infractions are ongoing, and efforts to trace any other accomplices connected to the cases remain active.
