The Bagmati Province government has made a significant increase in license application, renewal, and category addition fees through the economic bill introduced for the implementation of the fiscal year 2083/84. From Shrawan 1, the financial burden on service recipients who want to obtain or renew a driving license in Bagmati Province will increase. According to the new arrangement, the application fee has been increased to Rs 1,000 from the previous Rs 500. The license and renewal fee for motorcycles and scooters (A category) has been increased to Rs 3,000 from Rs 1,500. The fee for cars, jeeps, vans (B category), tempos (C category), and power trailers (D category) has been increased to Rs 4,000 from Rs 2,000, while the fee for tractors (E category) and mini-buses/min-trucks (F category) has been increased to Rs 5,000 from Rs 2,500. The fee for categories G, H, I, and J (trucks, buses, loaders, excavators, backhoes, graders) has been increased to Rs 6,000 from Rs 3,000. In addition, the fee has also been increased for those who want to add a new category to their existing license. According to this, the fee for categories A to F has been increased to Rs 1,000 from Rs 500, and the fee for categories G to J has been increased to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,000. Although there has been a significant increase in fees, the validity period of the license remains the same at 10 years.
