एमसीसीले नेपाललाई थप ५ करोड डलर अनुदान प्रदान गर्नेMCC Approves Additional $50 Million Grant for Nepal
नेपाल कम्प्याक्टका लागि मिलेनियम च्यालेञ्ज कर्पोरेसन (एमसीसी) को सञ्चालक समितिले थप ५ करोड अमेरिकी डलरको अनुदान स्वीकृत गरेको छ। यसले कम्प्याक्टको कुल बजेट ७४७ मिलियन अमेरिकी डलर पुगेको छ। अमेरिकी दूतावासका अनुसार, यो निर्णयले अमेरिका र नेपालबीचको सुदृढ सहकार्यलाई झल्काएको छ।
थप गरिएको सहयोगले नेपालमा गुणस्तरीय पूर्वाधार निर्माण गरी नागरिकहरूको जीवनस्तर सुधार गर्न महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका खेल्ने बताइएको छ। यस प्रस्तावलाई अब नेपाल सरकारको स्वीकृतिका लागि अघि बढाइनेछ।
एमसीसीले नेपालका प्राथमिकता अनुसार विकास परियोजनाहरूलाई समर्थन गर्ने प्रतिबद्धता जनाएको छ। कम्प्याक्ट अपरेशनका उपाध्यक्ष क्यामरन अल्फोर्डले भने, “यस आर्थिक सहयोगले नेपालको ऊर्जा क्षेत्रलाई सबल बनाउँदै दीर्घकालीन आर्थिक वृद्धिमा टेवा पुर्याउनेछ।”
एमसीसी, अमेरिकी सरकारद्वारा स्थापना भएको स्वतन्त्र विकास निकाय हो, जसले सुशासन, भ्रष्टाचारविरुद्धको अभियान, र लोकतान्त्रिक अधिकारको संरक्षणमा ध्यान दिने देशहरूलाई सहयोग प्रदान गर्छ। एमसीसीले समयसीमाभित्रै नीति सुधार र पूर्वाधार विकासका लागि सहयोग उपलब्ध गराउने गर्दछ।
The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors has approved an additional $50 million grant for the Nepal Compact. This brings the total Compact budget to $747 million. According to the U.S. Embassy, this decision highlights the strong partnership between the United States and Nepal.
The additional funding is aimed at advancing transformative infrastructure projects in Nepal, ultimately improving the quality of life for its citizens. The proposal will now be forwarded to the Government of Nepal for approval.
MCC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nepal’s development priorities. Cameron Alford, Vice President of Compact Operations, stated, “This financial assistance will strengthen Nepal’s energy sector and contribute to long-term economic growth.”
MCC, an independent U.S. government development agency, was established to support countries with good governance, anti-corruption efforts, and respect for democratic rights. The agency provides time-bound grants for infrastructure development and policy reforms to drive sustainable progress.
