Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that Nepal’s debt is lower compared to its neighboring countries. Addressing a special session of the Madhesh Province Assembly on Tuesday, he pointed out that Japan holds the highest debt ratio globally.
He said, “In terms of debt ratio, Japan tops the world. However, compared to our neighbors, Nepal’s debt is low. A debt up to 50 percent of national income isn’t considered significant, and our debt is below that.” PM Oli suggested that Nepal’s economic situation remains balanced, indicating no heavy debt burden.
