क्रोएसियालाई स्तब्ध बनाउँदै पोर्चुगल विश्वकपको प्रिक्वार्टरफाइनलमा प्रवेशPortugal Stuns Croatia to Reach World Cup Quarterfinals
काठमाडौँ । फिफा विश्वकप अन्तर्गत अन्तिम ३२ को रोमाञ्चक खेलमा क्रोएसियालाई २–१ ले पराजित गर्दै पोर्चुगल प्रिक्वार्टरफाइनल (अन्तिम १६) मा प्रवेश गरेको छ।
टोरन्टो स्टेडियममा शुक्रबार बिहान सम्पन्न खेलको इन्जुरी समयमा गोन्कालो रामोसले गोल गरेपछि पोर्चुगलले नाटकीय जित दर्ता गरेको हो।
खेलको सुरुवातदेखि नै बलमाथि नियन्त्रण बनाए पनि पोर्चुगलले सुरुवाती अग्रता भने गुमाएको थियो। ५३औं मिनेटमा इभान पेरिसिचले गोल गर्दै क्रोएसियालाई १–० को अग्रता दिलाएका थिए।
एक गोलले पछि परेको स्थितिमा पोर्चुगलले लगातार आक्रमण बुन्यो। खेलको ६८औं मिनेटमा प्राप्त पेनाल्टीलाई कप्तान क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डोले गोलमा परिणत गर्दै खेल १–१ को बराबरीमा ल्याए।
खेलमा मुख्य मोड तब आयो जब प्रशिक्षक रोबर्टो मार्टिनेजले ८१औं मिनेटमा कप्तान रोनाल्डोलाई मैदानबाट बाहिर बोलाए। रोनाल्डो निराश हुँदै बेन्चमा फर्किए पनि उनको स्थानमा आएका खेलाडीहरूको प्रभाव मैदानमा देखियो। १० मिनेटको इन्जुरी समय थपिएकोमा ९४औं मिनेटमा राफेल लियोको उत्कृष्ट क्रसमा गोन्कालो रामोसले सानदार हेडरमार्फत गोल गर्दै पोर्चुगललाई जित दिलाए।
अन्तिम समयमा गोल खाएपछि क्रोएसियाली खेलाडी र समर्थकहरू स्तब्ध बनेका थिए। रोनाल्डो मैदान बाहिर भए पनि रामोसको गोलपछि उनी मैदानभित्रै पुगेर साथीहरूसँग खुसी साटेका थिए। यो जितसँगै पोर्चुगलले अब प्रिक्वार्टरफाइनलमा बलियो प्रतिद्वन्द्वी स्पेनको सामना गर्ने पक्का भएको छ।
Portugal has reached the quarterfinals by defeating Croatia 2-1. Portugal secured a dramatic win after Goncalo Ramos scored in injury time.
The match, which was part of the FIFA World Cup, was played at the Toronto Stadium on Friday morning. Portugal took control of the game from the start but lost the initial lead. In the 53rd minute, Ivan Perisic scored, giving Croatia a 1-0 lead.
After being behind by a goal, Portugal launched a series of attacks. In the 68th minute, Captain Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty into a goal, making the score 1-1.
The turning point in the game came when Coach Roberto Martinez substituted Captain Ronaldo in the 81st minute. Although Ronaldo was disappointed and returned to the bench, the players who replaced him made an impact on the field. In the 10 minutes of injury time, Rafael Leao's excellent cross led to Goncalo Ramos scoring a superb header in the 94th minute, giving Portugal the win.
The Croatian players and fans were stunned after conceding the goal in the final minutes. Although Ronaldo was off the field, he returned to celebrate with his teammates after Ramos' goal. With this win, Portugal is now set to face strong opponent Spain in the quarterfinals.
