Kathmandu — Shikhar Power Development Limited has completed the allotment of its Initial Public Offering (IPO) issued to the general public. According to the issue manager, Global IME Capital, the share allotment was finalized on Tuesday morning at 8:30 AM.A total of 184,260 applicants were allotted shares, each receiving 10 units. The IPO witnessed overwhelming demand from investors, reflecting strong interest in hydropower sector stocks. In total, 2,766,510 applicants had applied for the offering.By the final day of the issue, applications worth Rs 3.07 billion had been received for 30.73 million shares, indicating a significant oversubscription compared to the number of shares available for the public.This issuance represents the second phase of the company’s IPO. Earlier, the company had already allocated shares to project-affected local residents and Nepali citizens working abroad.Shikhar Power had received approval to issue 3.2 million shares worth Rs 320 million, which represents 32.65 percent of its total issued capital of Rs 980 million. Out of this, 980,000 shares were reserved for local residents affected by the project.Similarly, 222,000 shares were allocated to Nepalis employed abroad, while 111,000 shares were issued to mutual funds, all of which had already been distributed prior to this public offering.Due to high demand, a large number of applicants were unable to receive shares, with allotment limited to the minimum 10 units per investor. The strong response highlights continued investor confidence in Nepal’s hydropower sector and the sustained popularity of IPO investments among retail participants.
