Significant Reduction in Nepal's Public Debt

According to the Public Debt Management Office's report, Nepal's public debt has decreased to NPR 26.67 trillion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. As of the end of Falgun, it was NPR 26.76 trillion. In just one month, the debt reduced by NPR 8.77 billion. Domestic debt stands at NPR 13.01 trillion, while external debt is NPR 13.65 trillion.

External debt accounts for 51.19% and domestic debt for 48.81%. The government has spent 4.43% of GDP on principal and interest payments. In nine months, domestic debt liability decreased by NPR 1.70 trillion and external debt liability by NPR 32.93 billion.
