Apply Malaysia e-Visa Online from Nepal – Official Portal & Guidelines

Malaysia’s e-Visa system, officially known as MYVISA, allows Nepali citizens to apply online for a visa to enter Malaysia without visiting the embassy. The process is fully digital and managed by the Immigration Department of Malaysia through its official website https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. Applicants can easily apply for tourism, business, or transit purposes from the comfort of their home.

Nepali travelers can apply for two main categories — Visa Without Reference (VTR) for tourism and social visits, and Visa With Reference (VDR) for official, business, or medical purposes. The e-Visa allows a single or multiple entrydepending on eligibility, with each stay limited to 30 days. You must apply from outside Malaysia, and e-Visas cannot be applied for while already in Malaysia.

The online application process is straightforward. Applicants must first create an account on the official website, fill in their personal and travel details, upload scanned copies of their passport, passport-size photo (white background), return ticket, and hotel booking or proof of accommodation. Once the details are verified, payment can be made online through a credit card or e-wallet (Alipay, WeChat Pay, etc.).

The processing time usually takes 2 to 7 working days, excluding weekends and Malaysian public holidays. Once approved, the e-Visa is sent digitally and can be downloaded and printed on A4 paper. The e-Visa remains valid for 6 months from the date of issue, and travelers are advised to apply at least 14 days before departure to avoid last-minute issues.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, travelers must present their passport (valid for 6 months), printed e-Visa, return flight ticket, and proof of accommodation at the immigration counter. It is also advisable to carry financial proof or bank statements to show sufficient funds for the stay.

Applicants should avoid using third-party or fake websites, as only malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my is the official portal. The visa fees are non-refundable, even if the application is rejected. All information entered must match the passport details exactly — any mismatch could lead to visa invalidation.
