China Business Visa Renewal and Extension Rules for Nepalis

The China Business Visa renewal and extension process for Nepali citizens requires timely application, complete documentation, and adherence to Chinese immigration rules. Extensions can be done in China at PSB offices, while renewals must be done from Nepal. With professional guidance from Yatra for Fun Pvt. Ltd., Nepali business travelers can ensure hassle-free processing and uninterrupted business trips to China.

China Business Visa Renewal and Extension Rules for Nepalis

For Nepali entrepreneurs, importers, and professionals who frequently visit China for trade and business, understanding the China Business Visa (M-Visa) renewal and extension rules is crucial in 2025. Many Nepalis who hold short-term or multiple-entry business visas often need to extend their stay in China or renew their visa after expiry to continue attending meetings, visiting factories, or managing partnerships. The renewal and extension process depends on the visa type, duration, and purpose of visit — and it must strictly follow Chinese immigration laws.

A China Business Visa extension allows Nepali travelers to stay longer without leaving China, whereas renewalmeans applying for a completely new visa, usually after the previous one expires. For an extension, applicants must apply at the Exit and Entry Administration Office (EEAO) under the Public Security Bureau (PSB) in the city where they are staying. The request should be made at least 7 days before the visa expires, and the applicant’s passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining. Extensions are generally granted for 30 to 90 days, depending on the business purpose and supporting documents.

The required documents for visa extension include:

  • A valid passport and current visa copy

  • A completed visa extension application form

  • Invitation letter or PU Letter from the Chinese partner company

  • Business registration certificate (Nepal-based or China-registered firm)

  • Hotel registration form from the local police station (mandatory for all foreigners staying in hotels/apartments)

  • Recent color photograph (48mm × 33mm)

  • Bank statement showing sufficient funds for the extended stay

Once submitted, the Public Security Bureau reviews the documents and typically issues a decision within 5 to 10 working days. If approved, a new visa sticker is placed on the passport showing the updated validity and permitted stay. However, extensions are not guaranteed — if the applicant has violated visa conditions, overstayed, or engaged in non-business activities, the request may be denied.

Visa renewal, on the other hand, must be done outside China, such as from Nepal, by reapplying at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC), Rising Mall, Kamaladi, Kathmandu. Renewal follows the same process as a new application, including submitting a valid invitation or PU Letter, business registration documents, bank statements, and travel itinerary. Nepali citizens with a history of frequent business travel and no violations often find renewals faster and easier.

To ensure a smooth process, Yatra for Fun Pvt. Ltd., based at Koteshwor-32, Kathmandu, Nepal, offers expert assistance for both China Business Visa renewals and extensions. The agency helps prepare embassy-standard applications, verify company invitations, and provide coordination with Chinese hosts. Yatra for Fun also assists with flight booking, hotel reservation, and travel insurance to make business travel seamless.
