Documents Required for Thailand E-Visa Application from Nepal

Applying for a Thailand e-Visa from Nepal is now an easy, safe, and fully online process, but submitting the right set of documents is crucial for successful approval. The Royal Thai Government, through its official website www.thaievisa.go.th, has digitized the entire visa system — meaning applicants no longer need to visit the Embassy in person. However, the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of your uploaded documents play a vital role in ensuring smooth processing and avoiding delays or rejection.

To apply for a Thailand e-Visa, every Nepali applicant must first have a valid passport. The passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of travel, and it must contain at least two blank pages for visa stamps. A clear color scan of the biodata page must be uploaded in PDF or JPG format. Along with this, applicants need a recent passport-sized photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm) taken within the last six months, with a white background and no shadows or head coverings (unless for religious reasons).

Applicants also need to provide proof of accommodation, such as a confirmed hotel booking or an invitation letter from a Thai resident. If staying with family or friends, a copy of the host’s Thai ID or residence permit is also required. Similarly, a round-trip flight ticket showing both entry and exit from Thailand must be attached — it helps verify your travel intent and return assurance.

Another important requirement is financial proof. The applicant must upload a bank statement for the last three to six months showing sufficient funds — at least USD 700 (around NPR 93,000) per person — stamped and signed by the bank. This ensures that the traveler can cover all expenses during their stay. Additionally, a proof of residence in Nepal, such as a Nepali citizenship card, national ID, or utility bill, should be attached to verify the applicant’s residential address.

For those who are employed or self-employed, it is mandatory to submit relevant documents. Employees must include a letter from their employer stating their position, leave approval, and salary details. Business owners should provide their business registration certificate or PAN certificate, while students must attach a letter of enrollment from their institution.

Though not mandatory, it is highly recommended to have travel insurance covering at least USD 10,000 for medical emergencies, COVID-19 treatment, and accidents. In some cases, the Royal Thai Embassy may request additional documents such as marriage certificates, birth certificates, or previous visa copies, especially for family applicants or frequent travelers.

For Nepali travelers, applying for a Thailand e-Visa becomes quick and hassle-free when all the necessary documents are correctly prepared and uploaded. Each document must be color scanned, legible, and up to date. Submitting incomplete or unclear files may delay approval or cause rejection. Once all requirements are ready, applicants can easily complete their visa process online through www.thaievisa.go.th without visiting the embassy.
