Kathmandu — The government's existing bulky organisational structure is set to become leaner, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced through the budget.
With the number of federal ministries already reduced from 22 to 18, the government has adopted a policy of using the savings from cutting departments, offices, and staff positions to make the administration more efficient.
According to the announcement, 31 agencies will be scrapped, 6 will be merged, 6 will be transferred, and 18 will be restructured.
