He said that although Nepal currently meets the minimum eligibility to graduate from the United Nations' Least Developed Country status, the government has decided to upgrade the country on the back of two more years of intensive economic and social national revival. Kathmandu — The government will expand soft power while making good use of the diaspora's skills, capital, and networks, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle announced through the budget.
Wagle said legal, technical, and administrative infrastructure will be prepared to integrate Nepali citizens living abroad into the democratic process and to ensure their voting rights.
The Finance Minister said a new bill will be presented in Parliament to carry out extensive reforms in the visa system and to manage immigration in an investment-friendly manner.
