Hong Kong eVisa for Nepali Citizens (2025 Guide) — Full Online Application Process & Visa Assistance

As of 2025, Nepali citizens are required to obtain a Hong Kong Visit Visa or Entry Permit before traveling to Hong Kong, since Nepal is not included in the list of 170 visa-free countries eligible for entry to the Hong Kong SAR. The Hong Kong Immigration Department has introduced a modern eVisa (Electronic Visa) system that allows Nepali applicants to submit their forms and supporting documents online from anywhere in the world. This system has made the application process much more convenient, especially for Nepalis residing abroad such as in Australia, Japan, Europe, or the Middle East.
Applicants must complete Form ID 1003A (for themselves) and Form ID 1003B (if they have a local sponsor in Hong Kong). These forms can be downloaded from the Hong Kong Immigration Department official website (https://www.immd.gov.hk). Applicants are required to upload digital copies of essential documents including a valid passport (with at least six months validity), passport-sized photo, flight and hotel bookings, bank statements, and invitation letters (if applicable). Once the online submission is completed, the original signed forms and photos must be sent by air mail to the Immigration Department’s address in Tseung Kwan O, New Territories.
Processing typically takes two to four weeks, though it may vary depending on accuracy and volume. Once approved, applicants will receive a downloadable eVisa, which they can print and carry for immigration clearance at the airport. The standard visit visa usually allows a stay of 14 to 30 days within a validity period of three months. For business professionals or frequent travelers, a multiple-journey visa can also be applied for, provided they have made three or more trouble-free visits to Hong Kong within the past year.
Visitors on a Hong Kong visa are permitted to attend meetings, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions, but they are not allowed to sell products, construct exhibition booths, or provide services directly to the public. Those who wish to deliver a speech or presentation may do so without payment, or under the Short-Term Visitor Scheme (STV) if approved for specific sectors.
It is essential to avoid overstaying, as doing so is considered a criminal offense under Hong Kong’s Immigration Ordinance. Violators may face fines up to HK$50,000 or imprisonment for up to two years. Those requiring an extension should apply before their permitted stay expires.
