Hong Kong Travel Advisory for Nepalese Tourists — Latest Visa Policy 2025

In 2025, Nepali citizens must apply for a Hong Kong visit or entry visa before traveling, as Nepal is not among visa-free countries. Applications can be submitted online via the Hong Kong e-Visa system or through the Chinese Embassy with necessary documents such as passport, photo, flight, hotel, and financial proof. Visa-on-arrival is not available. Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd. assists with documentation, coordination, and smooth visa approval for all Nepali travelers.

Hong Kong Travel Advisory for Nepalese Tourists — Latest Visa Policy 2025

In 2025, Nepali tourists planning to visit Hong Kong must be aware of the updated visa regulations and travel conditions issued by the Hong Kong Immigration Department (ImmD). Hong Kong is one of Asia’s most visited destinations, attracting travelers for its luxury shopping, vibrant culture, and global business opportunities. However, Nepal is not listed among the countries that enjoy visa-free entry to Hong Kong. This means that Nepali passport holders must obtain a visa or entry permit in advance before flying to Hong Kong, even for short stays such as tourism, family visits, or transits exceeding 24 hours.

Currently, nationals of around 170 countries are eligible to enter Hong Kong without a visa for stays ranging between 7 and 180 days, depending on nationality, but Nepal is not part of this group. Therefore, all Nepali citizens must apply for a Visit Visa or Entry Permit before traveling. The application can be completed online through the official Hong Kong Immigration e-Visa Portal, or via the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. Applicants are required to fill out Form ID 1003A, and if they have a local sponsor in Hong Kong (such as a relative or business partner), that sponsor must fill out Form ID 1003B. Supporting documents include a valid passport with at least six months’ validity, a recent photograph, proof of sufficient funds, a confirmed flight itinerary, hotel reservation, and a clear explanation of the purpose of the visit.

As per the latest 2025 policy, the processing time for Hong Kong visit visas generally ranges between 2 to 4 weeks, depending on case complexity and document completeness. Once approved, travelers receive an Electronic Visa (e-Visa), which must be printed and presented upon arrival. Nepali tourists should note that Hong Kong does not issue visas on arrival to Nepali nationals — all approvals must be granted prior to entry. Attempting to travel without a valid visa may result in airline boarding denial or deportation from the airport.

Visitors from Nepal must also comply strictly with the conditions of their stay. They are allowed to engage in tourism, sightseeing, family visits, or short-term non-remunerated business meetings but are prohibited from working or conducting paid activities. Violating visa conditions or overstaying may result in heavy fines, imprisonment, or future entry bans. Additionally, Hong Kong’s post-pandemic travel environment remains open, with no mandatory quarantine or vaccination requirements, but authorities may implement temporary health checks if global conditions demand.

It is strongly advised that travelers apply for their visa at least one month in advance to avoid delays, ensuring all documents are clear and accurate. Using a professional travel agency significantly increases the likelihood of fast and successful processing. In Nepal, Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd., a government-registered travel and visa assistance company, provides comprehensive support for Hong Kong tourist, business, and transit visa applications. The company handles all documentation, form submission, hotel and flight confirmations, and correspondence with the Hong Kong Immigration Department. For expert assistance, applicants can contact Yatra For Fun Pvt. Ltd. at 9802348957 or 9708072951, or visit the official website https://www.yatraforfun.com.
