How to Apply for Thailand E-Visa from Nepal: Official Online Procedure Explained

Applying for a Thailand e-Visa from Nepal is now simple, fast, and completely digital. The Royal Thai Governmenthas launched an official online platform — www.thaievisa.go.th — operated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. Through this system, Nepali citizens can apply for tourist, business, medical, or transit visas without visiting the Thai Embassy in person. The entire process — from registration to visa issuance — is paperless, secure, and efficient.

To begin, applicants must visit the official website and create an account. The registration requires personal information such as full name, nationality (Nepal), contact number, and a valid email address. A password of at least eight characters, containing both uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers, must be set. Once the account is created, a verification email will be sent. The user must click the verification link to activate their account before proceeding.

After activation, users can sign in to their personal dashboard. This dashboard serves as the main control center where applicants can start a new visa application, check the progress of ongoing applications, or view previously approved visas. From there, the user clicks “Apply for a New Visa” to begin the formal application process. The system will ask for details such as country of passport (Nepal), current location, and the Thai Embassy or Consulate to apply through (for Nepali citizens, it’s usually the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu).

Once the correct visa type (tourist, business, or other) is chosen, the applicant needs to fill in all required information — including personal details, passport number, travel itinerary, and address in Thailand. Supporting documents must then be uploaded, such as a passport biodata page, a recent passport-sized photo, hotel booking, round-trip flight ticket, and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the stay.

The next step is the visa fee payment, which can be completed securely online using a debit or credit card. It is important to review all details before payment because once the fee is submitted, it is non-refundable. After successful submission, applicants can check their visa status under the “Check Status” tab in their dashboard. The Thai authorities will send updates by email, and once approved, the applicant can download the e-Visa confirmation documentdirectly. This document must be presented (either printed or digitally) upon arrival at any international airport in Thailand.
The Thailand e-Visa system provides Nepali citizens with an easy, efficient, and official way to obtain their visa online. No embassy visit, no queues, and no paperwork — just a few simple online steps. With proper documentation and careful submission, approval typically arrives within a few working days.
