How to Apply Malaysia Online Visa for Nepali Passport Holders – Step by Step Guide 2025

Applying for a Malaysia e-Visa (MYVISA) as a Nepali passport holder is now a simple, fast, and fully digital process. Managed by the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the e-Visa allows Nepali citizens to apply for entry permits online without visiting the embassy. This visa is valid for tourism, business, family visits, and medical purposes, making it a convenient option for travelers from Nepal who wish to visit Malaysia legally and safely.

To apply, applicants must visit the official website https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. It is important to note that applications can only be made online and must be completed before entering Malaysia. Nepali citizens can apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV), valid for one visit up to 30 days, or a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV), valid for several visits, though the MEV category is not open to citizens of Israel and North Korea.

The first step is to create an account by selecting the “Individual Sign Up” option. After filling in your personal information, a temporary password will be sent to your email. You must log in with this password and change it to a new one to activate your account. Once logged in, applicants must fill out an online application form with accurate details — including passport information, travel purpose, address in Malaysia, and travel itinerary.

You must then upload all the required documents, such as a passport biodata page (valid for at least 6 months with 3 blank pages), recent studio-taken photograph with white background (35mm × 50mm), confirmed return flight tickets, proof of accommodation (hotel booking or relative’s address), and a cover letter explaining the purpose of the visit. For minors, a birth certificate is mandatory.

After submitting the documents, the next step is to make an online payment using a credit card or e-wallet (Alipay or WeChat Pay). The visa processing charge is RM 105, and there is an additional convenience fee of 0.8%–1.7%. Fees vary slightly based on nationality and payment method, and they are non-refundable, even if the visa is rejected.

The processing time is generally between 2 to 7 working days, excluding weekends and public holidays. It is recommended to apply at least 14 days before your planned departure. Once the e-Visa is approved, applicants can download and print it on A4 paper (in color or black and white) or save a digital copy on their phone for immigration checks.

Upon arrival in Malaysia, Nepali travelers must present their valid passport, printed/digital e-Visa, return ticket, accommodation proof, and travel documents. The immigration officer will review the details, and entry approval will depend on the discretion of the officer. Having a valid e-Visa does not guarantee automatic entry.

If any issue arises during the application — such as login problems, payment errors, or system issues — applicants can contact MYVISA Live Chat Support, available 24 hours a day. Clearing the browser cache, disabling VPN, or switching to a mobile data connection can also resolve technical errors.

The Malaysia e-Visa (MYVISA) system has become a highly efficient and transparent solution for Nepali citizens planning to travel abroad. It saves time, eliminates paperwork, and ensures a smooth and secure application experience.
