Malaysia Tourist Visa for Nepali – Documents, Fees & Stay Duration Explained

The Malaysia Tourist Visa for Nepali citizens is a convenient and fully online visa facility provided by the Immigration Department of Malaysia under the official system known as MYVISA. This visa allows travelers from Nepal to visit Malaysia for tourism, leisure, or family visits. The process is simple, secure, and eliminates the need to visit the Malaysian Embassy in person. Nepali citizens can apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) or a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) depending on their travel requirements.

The Single Entry Visa (SEV) is valid for one visit of up to 30 days, while the Multiple Entry Visa (MEV) allows multiple visits within its validity period, with each stay limited to 30 days per entry. The e-Visa is valid for six months from the date of issue, and travelers must ensure their passport has at least six months validity and a minimum of three blank pages before applying.

To apply, Nepali travelers must visit the official website https://malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my. The application process involves creating an online account, filling in personal and travel information, uploading documents, and paying the visa fees digitally. Applications must be made before arriving in Malaysia, as applying from within the country is not permitted.

🧾 Documents Required for Malaysia Tourist Visa (Nepali Citizens)

Applicants must prepare and upload the following documents during the online application:

  • A valid passport (minimum six months validity from the date of travel)

  • Recent passport-size photograph (white background, studio taken, 35mm x 50mm)

  • Passport biodata page scan

  • Confirmed return flight ticket

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter from a friend/relative)

  • Cover letter explaining the purpose of the visit (if necessary)

  • Birth certificate for minors

For those staying with family or friends, the applicant must include a letter addressed to the Immigration Officer with details of the host’s name, address, identification number, and contact information.

Visa Fees & Payment Information

The visa fees for Nepali citizens are as follows:

  • Visa fee: Depends on nationality

  • Processing fee: RM 105

  • Convenience fee: 0.8%–1.7% (based on payment method)
Payment can be made using credit card, Alipay, or WeChat Pay.
All fees are non-refundable, even if the visa is rejected.

Processing Time & Validity

The processing time for the Malaysia Tourist Visa is 2–7 working days, excluding weekends and Malaysian public holidays. Applicants are advised to apply at least 14 days before their intended travel date. Once approved, the visa remains valid for six months, and travelers can enter Malaysia anytime within that period.

Stay Duration & Conditions

Nepali tourists can stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days per entry under the Single Entry Visa. The visa is strictly for tourism purposes — it does not permit employment, study, or long-term residence. Travelers must comply with the conditions stated in their visa note and avoid overstaying, which could lead to fines or a future ban from entering Malaysia.

Upon Arrival in Malaysia

At the entry checkpoint, travelers must present:

  • Valid passport and e-Visa (printed or digital)

  • Return ticket

  • Proof of accommodation

  • Travel itinerary and other supporting documents

The immigration officer has the right to approve or deny entry based on the documents presented.

The Malaysia Tourist e-Visa is an ideal choice for Nepali travelers due to its simplicity, speed, and full online process. It saves time, reduces paperwork, and allows tourists to explore Malaysia’s attractions like Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, and Genting Highlands with complete peace of mind.
