Nepal’s External Sector Strengthens as Reserves Hit $20.4 Billion
According to NRB’s Mid-September 2025/26 data, Nepal’s foreign exchange reserves have reached USD 20.41 billion (Rs. 2.88 trillion) — covering over 13 months of imports. The rise was fueled by a BOP surplus of Rs. 153.7 billion, a current account surplus of Rs. 130.7 billion, and a 33% surge in remittances. With low inflation (1.87%) and stable interest rates, Nepal’s external sector has entered one of its strongest periods in recent history.
