The index rose to 105.74 points, reflecting a 1.87% annual increase compared to the same month last year, and a 0.74% rise month-on-month compared to mid-August (Saun 2082/83). While the increase is moderate compared to historic inflation peaks, the underlying structure shows that prices of essential services and non-food commodities are becoming the primary drivers of inflation in Nepal.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a total turnover of NPR 4.97 billion on Monday. Among this, the top 10 brokerage firms alone accounted for 44% of the total trading volume. According to market data, the top 10 brokers purchased securities worth NPR 2.32 billion and sold securities worth NPR 2.05 billion. Out of the 10 leading brokers, nine recorded higher buying volume than selling, indicating strong buying pressure among top firms. The brokers with higher purchases include Naasa (Broker 58), Bhrikuti (Broker 55), Capital Max (Broker 62), Vision (Broker 34), Online (Broker 49), Imperial (Broker 45), Aryatara (Broker 57), Shree Krishna (Broker 28), and Sani (Broker 42).

On the second trading day of the week (Monday), Nepal’s stock market witnessed positive movement. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increased by 44.25 points, closing at 2,547.60 points. Despite the rise in the index, the total trading volume declined. Compared to Sunday’s NPR 6.61 billion, today’s total turnover stood at NPR 4.60 billion.
