Required Documents for Thailand Business Visa from Nepal

For Nepali entrepreneurs, investors, or professionals planning to conduct business activities, attend meetings, or establish partnerships in Thailand, applying for a Non-Immigrant “B” (Business) Visa is mandatory. As of 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu requires all applications to be processed through the official Thailand eVisa platform at www.thaievisa.go.th. Applicants no longer need to submit physical documents initially; however, all required documents must be properly scanned and uploaded in color for embassy verification. Submitting incomplete or unclear files can lead to rejection or delay.

The core documents required for a Thailand Business Visa include a valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of travel and at least two blank pages. Applicants must complete the eVisa online application formaccurately and ensure all details match their passport. A recent passport-size photograph (white background, 3.5x4.5 cm) taken within six months must also be uploaded. The most critical document is an official business invitation letterfrom a registered Thai company, addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu, stating the purpose, duration, and nature of the business visit. The letter must include the Thai company’s registration number, address, contact details, and a responsible person’s name and signature.

In addition, applicants must provide a copy of the inviting company’s business registration certificate issued by Thailand’s Department of Business Development (DBD) and a list of shareholders to verify company authenticity. Supporting documents such as tax registration (VAT certificate), company profile, or business license from the Thai side are also highly recommended. Nepali applicants are required to submit their own business registration documents from Nepal, including a Certificate of Incorporation, PAN/VAT registration, latest tax clearance certificate, and proof of ongoing business transactions such as invoices or trade contracts.

A bank statement for the last six months showing sufficient financial capacity (generally above THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family equivalent in NPR) is also required to ensure that the applicant has the means to support their stay and business expenses in Thailand. The bank statement must be signed and stamped by the bank. In addition, applicants must upload confirmed hotel bookings and round-trip flight tickets matching the proposed travel period. A detailed business itinerary mentioning meeting dates, locations, and contact details of Thai business counterparts should also be included to prove the legitimacy of the trip.

If the applicant represents a company, a recommendation letter from the Nepali company on official letterhead, stating designation, purpose of visit, and duration of stay, should be attached. For self-employed applicants, proof of ownership (e.g., trade license or business registration) is mandatory. It is also advisable to include any past travel records or visa copies (if available) to strengthen credibility.

Once all documents are ready, the applicant should submit them online via the eVisa portal, pay the visa fee, and wait for the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu to review the case. Processing generally takes 5 to 10 working days, but the timeframe can extend if verification is required. Applicants are advised to apply at least 2 to 3 weeks before their travel date and ensure all files are clearly readable and in PDF or JPEG format as per embassy guidelines.
