17 Construction Companies Blacklisted by the Government

The Government of Nepal has blacklisted 17 construction companies for failing to comply with contract agreements and delays in project completion. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers issued a notice on Thursday announcing the decision.

According to the PPMO, these companies have been blacklisted for a period ranging from one to two years under Section 63(1) of the Public Procurement Act, 2063 (2006) for violating contract terms, not completing construction work on time, or failing to complete assigned projects.

The blacklisted firms will now be barred from participating in any public procurement or construction-related projects during the suspension period.

The office stated that the decision was made to promote transparency, accountability, and discipline in the public construction sector. Among the listed companies, some have been banned for one year, while others face a two-year restriction.

The PPMO has been taking strict actions against contractors who breach agreements, delay public projects, or deliver substandard construction work in an effort to uphold quality standards in national infrastructure development.
