जेन–जी आन्दोलनको प्रभाव : मंगलबार बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्था बन्द रहनेBanks and Financial Institutions to Remain Closed on Tuesday Amid Gen Z Protests
देशभर जेन–जी आन्दोलन चर्किएसँगै मंगलबार बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्था बन्द रहने भएका छन्। सोमबारको प्रदर्शनमा राज्यले दमन गरेपछि आक्रोश बढेपछि सुरक्षालाई मध्यनजर गर्दै बैंकहरू बन्द गर्न लागिएको हो।
प्रशासनले काठमाडौं उपत्यकाको चक्रपथभित्र निषेधाज्ञा जारी गरेको छ भने देशका विभिन्न सहरमा समेत कर्फ्यु लगाइएको छ। यस्तो अवस्थामा नेपाल बैंकर्स संघले मंगलबार बैंकका शाखा नखोल्ने निर्णय गरेको हो।
नेपाल बैंकर्स संघका अध्यक्ष सन्तोष कोइरालाले बताएअनुसार निषेधाज्ञा जारी भएका क्षेत्रमा मात्र नभई अन्य स्थानका बैंक शाखा पनि बन्द रहनेछन्।
बैंकरहरूले आन्दोलनको जोखिमका कारण बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थामा तोडफोड र आगजनीको खतरा रहेको निष्कर्ष निकालेका छन्।
सोमबारको प्रदर्शनमा राज्यद्वारा गरिएको हिंसात्मक कदमका कारण १९ जनाको मृत्यु भएको थियो भने सयौं युवा घाइते भएका थिए। मंगलबारको सम्भावित जोखिमलाई मध्यनजर गर्दै देशका विभिन्न स्थानमा कर्फ्यु आदेश जारी गरिएको छ।
Kathmandu – Banks and financial institutions across the country will remain closed on Tuesday as the Gen Z movement intensifies. Following Monday’s violent crackdown by the state, public anger has surged, prompting authorities and bankers to shut down operations for security reasons.
The administration has imposed prohibitory orders inside the Ring Road area of Kathmandu Valley, while curfews have also been enforced in several other cities. In this context, the Nepal Bankers’ Association decided not to open bank branches on Tuesday.
Santosh Koirala, President of the Nepal Bankers’ Association, told Clickmandu that branches will remain closed not only in areas under prohibitory orders but also elsewhere. “Even in regions without curfew orders, staff would have to travel from restricted zones, making it impossible to open branches,” he explained. He further noted that the decision was made in coordination with Nepal Rastra Bank.
Bankers have also assessed that the spread of protests could pose risks of vandalism and arson at bank branches and financial institutions.
On Monday, 19 people were killed and hundreds of youths were injured when the state resorted to violent measures against demonstrators. With potential risks looming, curfew orders have been enforced in several parts of the country for Tuesday.
