आज साँझ मन्त्रिपरिषद्को बैठक, राष्ट्र बैंकको गभर्नर नियुक्ति हुने सम्भावनाCabinet Meeting Scheduled Today; Possibility of Appointing New NRB Governor
प्रधानमन्त्री केपी शर्मा ओलीले आज साँझ ६ बजे मन्त्रिपरिषद्को बैठक बोलाएका छन्। बैठकको प्रमुख एजेन्डा नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकको नयाँ गभर्नर नियुक्तिको विषय रहेको जनाइएको छ।
गभर्नर चयन प्रक्रिया अघि बढाउन सिफारिस समिति गठन भइसकेको छ। अर्थमन्त्री विष्णु पौडेलको संयोजकत्वमा पूर्व गभर्नर महाप्रसाद अधिकारी र अर्थविद् डा. पोषराज पाण्डे सदस्य रहेको समितिले तीन जनाको नाम मन्त्रिपरिषद् समक्ष सिफारिस गर्नुपर्ने प्रावधान छ।
विश्वस्त स्रोतका अनुसार, नेपाली कांग्रेस र नेकपा एमालेबीच डा. विश्व पौडेललाई गभर्नर बनाउने विषयमा सहमति भइसकेको छ। सम्भावित नियुक्तिको चर्चा बढेपछि डा. पौडेलले आफू सिफारिस समितिमा रहेर निष्पक्ष भूमिका निर्वाह गर्न नसक्ने भन्दै समितिबाट राजीनामा दिएका थिए।
आजको मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले सिफारिस पाएको नामहरूमध्येबाट एक जनालाई नयाँ गभर्नरको रूपमा नियुक्त गर्ने सम्भावना बलियो रहेको विश्लेषण गरिएको छ। यससँगै नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकको नेतृत्व परिवर्तन हुने निश्चित देखिएको छ।
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called a Cabinet meeting for today at 6 PM. The key agenda of the meeting is expected to be the appointment of a new Governor for Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
A recommendation committee has already been formed to initiate the selection process. The committee is chaired by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, with former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari and economist Dr. Posh Raj Pandey as members. As per procedure, the committee must recommend three candidates for the post of Governor.
Sources indicate that the ruling parties — Nepali Congress and CPN-UML — have already reached an agreement to appoint Dr. Bishwo Poudel as the new Governor. Following the increased possibility of his appointment, Dr. Poudel resigned from the recommendation committee to maintain neutrality.
It is highly likely that today’s Cabinet meeting will finalize the appointment of one of the recommended candidates, signaling a leadership change at Nepal Rastra Bank.
