काठमाडौं । अर्थमन्त्री डा. स्वर्णिम वाग्लेले सेयर बजारको पुँजीगत लाभकर नै अन्तिम कर भएको स्पष्ट पारेका छन् ।
अर्थ मन्त्रालयमा आज आयोजित पत्रकार सम्मेलनमा उनले लगानीकर्ताहरूले मन्त्रालयमै आएर पुँजीगत लाभकरलाई अन्तिम कर बनाउन आग्रह गरेको र सरकारले उदारतापूर्वक उक्त माग पूरा गरेको बताए ।
उनका अनुसार सरकारले पुँजीगत लाभकरको संरचना समायोजन गर्दै ५ प्रतिशतलाई ७.५ प्रतिशत र ७.५ प्रतिशतलाई १० प्रतिशत कायम गरेको हो । यसैलाई अन्तिम करका रूपमा घोषणा गरिएको उनले स्पष्ट पारे ।
अर्थमन्त्री वाग्लेले बजेटपछि कर बढाइएको भन्ने गलत बुझाइ र भ्रम फैलाइएकोप्रति ध्यानाकर्षण गराउँदै यस्तो दाबी निराधार रहेको बताए ।
उनले भारतमा १० देखि २० प्रतिशतसम्म पुँजीगत लाभकर रहेको उदाहरण दिँदै नेपालमा अझै पनि तुलनात्मक रूपमा कर दर नरम रहेको उल्लेख गरे ।
Kathmandu — Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has clarified that the capital gains tax on the share market is itself the final tax.
At a press conference held at the Ministry of Finance today, he said investors had come to the ministry to request that the capital gains tax be made a final tax, and that the government had generously fulfilled that demand.
According to him, the government adjusted the capital gains tax structure, setting the 5 percent rate at 7.5 percent and the 7.5 percent rate at 10 percent. He clarified that this is what has been declared as the final tax.
Wagle drew attention to the misunderstanding and confusion spread about the tax having been increased after the budget, saying such claims are baseless.
Citing the example of India, where capital gains tax ranges from 10 to 20 percent, he noted that Nepal's tax rate is still comparatively soft.
