हवाई इन्धनको मूल्य वृद्धि भएपछि नेपालमा आन्तरिक उडानका यात्रुको संख्या उल्लेख्य रूपमा घटेको छ । नेपाल नागरिक उड्डयन प्राधिकरणका अनुसार चैत १८ पछि दैनिक औसत १२ हजार यात्रुबाट घटेर करिब ७ देखि ८ हजार मात्र यात्रुले आन्तरिक उडान प्रयोग गरिरहेका छन्। हवाई भाडा बढेसँगै अत्यावश्यक बाहेकका यात्रुहरू सडक यातायाततर्फ आकर्षित हुँदा यात्रु संख्या घटेको अनुमान गरिएको छ। यात्रु घट्दा एयरलाइन्स कम्पनीसँगै प्राधिकरणको आम्दानीमा समेत असर परेको छ, जसअनुसार दैनिक करिब ८ लाख रुपैयाँसम्म नोक्सानी भइरहेको बताइएको छ । यसैबीच एयरलाइन्सहरूले उडान कटौती र मर्ज गरेर सेवा सञ्चालन गरिरहेका छन् भने सरकारसँग कर तथा शुल्कमा सहुलियतको माग गरिएको छ ।
Following the rise in aviation fuel prices in Nepal, the number of domestic air passengers has significantly declined. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, daily passenger numbers have dropped from around 12,000 to approximately 7,000–8,000 after Chaitra 18. The increase in airfares has led many non-essential travelers to shift toward road transport, resulting in a sharp decline in air travel demand. This has affected both airlines and the authority’s revenue, with an estimated daily loss of around NPR 800,000 from ticket-related income alone. Airlines have responded by merging and reducing flights while continuing services, and they have urged the government to provide tax and fee relief to ease operational pressure.
