Elon Musk’s xAI Unveils ‘Grok 3’, Aiming to Compete with ChatGPT

Elon Musk’s company xAI has officially launched its latest AI chatbot, ‘Grok 3’. Compared to its previous version, Grok 3 uses 10 times more computational resources and is designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, China’s DeepSeek, and other AI chatbots.

Speaking virtually at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk described Grok 3 as “scary smart”. He stated, “In the tests we have conducted so far, Grok 3 has outperformed any AI model that has been publicly released.”

Grok 3 Runs on Colossus Supercomputer

According to xAI, Grok 3 was trained using over 100,000 Nvidia GPU hours. Musk further mentioned that the system was built in just over eight months.

How to Use Grok 3?

xAI has made Grok 3 available starting today for ‘Premium Plus’ subscribers on X (formerly Twitter). Elon Musk, in a post, advised users to “Update the X app to access all new features of Grok 3.”

New ‘Super Grok’ Subscription Coming Soon

Musk also announced a new subscription plan, ‘Super Grok’, stating, “We are launching a new plan that gives users access to the most advanced features and early access to new updates.” This subscription will be available on the Grok app and the new website, grok.com.

Voice Interaction Feature Coming Soon

To enhance user experience, xAI is also working on a voice interaction system for Grok 3. Musk said, “I tested it earlier, and it allows users to interact with the chatbot just like talking to a person. However, some improvements are still needed.”

According to Musk, Grok 3 will be fully refined in about a week, but daily improvements will continue to make it even better.
