नयाँ मन्त्रिपरिषदमा अनुभवी नेतृत्वको प्रवेश : अर्थमन्त्रीमा रामेश्वर खनालEntry of Experienced Leadership in the New Cabinet: Rameshore Khanal Appointed as Finance Minister
काठमाडौं । मुलुक गम्भीर आर्थिक संकटको अवस्थामा रहेको बेला प्रधानमन्त्री सुशीला कार्कीले मन्त्रिपरिषदलाई पूर्णता दिँदै महत्वपूर्ण मन्त्रालयहरूमा अनुभवी नेतृत्वलाई जिम्मेवारी दिनुभएको छ। अर्थ मन्त्रालयको नेतृत्व पूर्वअर्थ सचिव रामेश्वर खनालले सम्हाल्ने भएका छन् भने गृहमन्त्रालयमा ओमप्रकाश अर्याल र ऊर्जा मन्त्रालयमा कुलमान घिसिङ नियुक्त भएका छन्।
खनाल लामो समयसम्म अर्थ मन्त्रालयमा विविध जिम्मेवारी सम्हाल्दै आएका, अनुसन्धान र नीतिगत काममा सक्रिय रहेका तथा उच्चस्तरीय आर्थिक सुधार आयोगको अध्यक्षसमेत भइसकेका कारण उनको नियुक्ति विशेष चासोको विषय बनेको छ। पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्री डा. बाबुराम भट्टराईका आर्थिक सल्लाहकारसमेत भइसकेका उनले अब नीतिगत अनुभवलाई व्यवहारिक सुधारमा परिणत गर्ने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।
युवापुस्तामा नयाँ आशा
विगतका सरकारहरूले विकास, समृद्धि र आधारभूत सेवामा ठोस उपलब्धि दिन नसकेको भन्दै आलोचना भइरहेका बेला यो सरकारप्रति युवापुस्ताको अपेक्षा निकै उच्च छ। उद्यमशीलतालाई प्रोत्साहन गर्ने नीति अभाव, लगानीमैत्री वातावरण नबन्नु र रोजगारीको अवसर सिर्जना नहुँदा हजारौं युवाहरू रोजगारीको खोजीमा विदेशिन बाध्य भएका थिए।
खनालको जिम्मेवारीले लगानी सहजता, कर प्रणालीमा सुधार, रोजगारी सिर्जना तथा उद्यमशीलतालाई प्रोत्साहन गर्ने वातावरण बनाउने आशा जगाएको छ।
चुनौती र सम्भावना
देशको वित्तीय अवस्था कमजोर रहे पनि सुधारको सम्भावना अझै खुला छ। यदि नयाँ सरकार र अर्थमन्त्री खनालले लगानीकर्ताको भरोसा कायम गर्न, उत्पादनमुखी अर्थतन्त्रतर्फ ध्यान दिन र जनअपेक्षा सम्बोधन गर्ने खाका तयार गर्न सके, नजिकैको भविष्यमा आर्थिक पुनरुत्थान सम्भव हुने देखिन्छ।
At a time when the country is facing deep economic challenges, Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expanded her cabinet by entrusting key ministries to experienced figures. Former Finance Secretary Rameshore Khanal has been appointed as the Minister of Finance, while Om Prakash Aryal has taken charge of the Home Ministry and Kulman Ghising has been given the Energy Ministry portfolio.
Khanal’s appointment has generated significant attention. With long experience in the Ministry of Finance, a strong background in policy research, and his role as chair of the High-Level Economic Reform Commission, he is seen as a capable technocrat. Having also served as the economic advisor to former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Khanal is expected to translate his policy expertise into practical reforms.
New Hope in the Eyes of Youth
Successive governments have long been criticized for failing to deliver on development, prosperity, and basic public services. The absence of entrepreneurship-friendly policies and an investment-conducive environment has forced thousands of young Nepalis to seek opportunities abroad.
Against this backdrop, Khanal’s appointment has sparked hope for simpler investment procedures, improvements in the tax system, job creation, and greater support for entrepreneurship.
Challenges and Opportunities
Despite the fragile financial condition of the nation, the possibility of reform is not beyond reach. If the new government and Finance Minister Khanal can restore investor confidence, shift the economy toward production-driven growth, and address public expectations, the path to economic recovery may soon begin.
