अमेरिकामा अर्थमन्त्री खनालद्वारा नेपाल–अमेरिका आर्थिक साझेदारीमा जोडFinance Minister Khanal Highlights Nepal–US Economic Partnership in Washington, D.C.
वाशिङटन डिसी (अमेरिका), असोज २८ — विश्व बैंक र अन्तरराष्ट्रिय मुद्रा कोष (IMF) को वार्षिक बैठकमा सहभागी हुन अमेरिका पुगेका अर्थमन्त्री रामेश्वरप्रसाद खनालले अमेरिकन चेम्बर अफ कमर्सले आयोजना गरेको ‘फ्रम द हिमालयज टु द हार्टल्याण्ड : स्ट्रेन्थनिङ यूएस–नेपाल पार्टनरशिप’ शीर्षकको व्यवसायिक संवाद (Business Dialogue) कार्यक्रममा सम्बोधन गरेका छन्।
कार्यक्रममा अर्थमन्त्री खनालले नेपालको हालको आर्थिक स्थिति, लगानी वातावरण, र अमेरिका–नेपालबीचको आर्थिक साझेदारी सुदृढीकरणका विषयमा विस्तृत रूपमा चर्चा गरेका थिए। उनले नेपालले लगानी–मैत्री नीति, निजी क्षेत्रसँगको सहकार्य, र ऊर्जा, पर्यटन, र सूचना प्रविधि क्षेत्रका अवसरहरूमा जोड दिएको जानकारी गराए।
कार्यक्रममा अमेरिकाका लागि नेपालका राजदूत लोकदर्शन रेग्मी, दूतावासका वरिष्ठ अधिकारीहरू, अमेरिकन चेम्बर अफ कमर्सका सदस्यहरू तथा विभिन्न व्यावसायिक समुदायका प्रतिनिधिहरूको सहभागिता रहेको थियो।
सोमबार वाशिङटन डिसीमै अर्थमन्त्री खनाल र अन्तरराष्ट्रिय मुद्रा कोषका उपप्रबन्ध निर्देशक बो लिबीचबीच भेटवार्ता भएको छ। भेटमा नेपालको वित्तीय नीति, मौद्रिक स्थायित्व, र अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सहयोगका विषयमा छलफल भएको अमेरिकास्थित नेपाली दूतावासले जनाएको छ।
भेटघाटमा नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकका गभर्नर डा. विश्वनाथ पौडेल, दूतावासका प्रतिनिधि, अर्थमन्त्री खनालको भ्रमण टोलीका सदस्य तथा मुद्रा कोषका अधिकारीहरूको समेत सहभागिता रहेको थियो।
अर्थमन्त्री खनाल विश्व बैंक र अन्तरराष्ट्रिय मुद्रा कोषको वार्षिक बैठकमा सहभागी हुन आइतबार अमेरिकाको राजधानी वाशिङटन डिसी पुगेका हुन्।
Washington, D.C., October 14 — Nepal’s Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal, who is currently in the United States to attend the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), addressed a business dialogue organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The event, titled “From the Himalayas to the Heartland: Strengthening the U.S.–Nepal Partnership,” focused on deepening economic cooperation between the two nations.
During his address, Minister Khanal discussed Nepal’s current economic situation, investment climate, and the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties. He emphasized Nepal’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment, promoting public–private collaboration, and unlocking opportunities in key sectors such as energy, tourism, and information technology.
The program was attended by Nepal’s Ambassador to the United States, Lok Darshan Regmi, officials from the Nepali Embassy, members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and representatives from the American business community.
On Monday, Minister Khanal also held a meeting with Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), in Washington, D.C. The discussions centered on Nepal’s financial and monetary policies, economic stability, and potential areas for international cooperation, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Washington.
The meeting was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Dr. Bishwanath Paudel, officials from the Nepali Embassy, members of Minister Khanal’s delegation, and IMF representatives.
Minister Khanal arrived in Washington, D.C., on Sunday to participate in the joint annual meetings of the World Bank and IMF.
