अर्थमन्त्री रामेश्वरप्रसाद खनालले निजी क्षेत्रका प्रमुख व्यवसायिक संघ–संस्थाका प्रतिनिधिसँग समसामयिक आर्थिक विषयमा छलफल गरेका छन्। बिहीबार भएको छलफलमा नेपाल उद्योग वाणिज्य महासंघका अध्यक्ष चन्द्रप्रसाद ढकाल, नेपाल चेम्बर्स अफ कमर्सका अध्यक्ष कमलेशकुमार अग्रवाल, नेपाल उद्योग परिसंघका अध्यक्ष वीरेन्द्रराज पाण्डे तथा नेपाल उद्योग व्यापार महासंघका अध्यक्ष खेमराज भण्डारी सहभागी थिए।छलफलका क्रममा उच्चस्तरीय आर्थिक सुधार सुझाव आयोगको प्रतिवेदन कार्यान्वयन, राजस्व वृद्धि गर्न आवश्यक नीतिगत संशोधन, सुशासन र भ्रष्टाचार नियन्त्रण जस्ता विषय उठाइएको नेपाल चेम्बर अफ कमर्सका अध्यक्ष अग्रवालले बताए। निजी क्षेत्रले भ्याट प्रणालीलाई बहुदरमा लैजानुपर्ने, कच्चा पदार्थ र तयारी वस्तुको आयात करबीच अन्तर राख्नुपर्ने, उत्पादन तथा निर्यात प्रवर्द्धन गर्नुपर्ने र अन्तःशुल्क दर घटाउनुपर्ने माग पनि राखेको थियो।त्यस्तै, निजी क्षेत्रसँग सम्बन्धित फाइलहरू विभिन्न निकायमा लामो समयसम्म थन्काएर राख्ने प्रवृत्ति अन्त्य गर्नुपर्ने विषयमा पनि ध्यानाकर्षण गराइएको थियो। आगामी दिनमा आर्थिक गतिविधि विस्तार गरी करिब ७ प्रतिशत आर्थिक वृद्धि, प्रतिव्यक्ति आय ३ हजार डलरसम्म पुर्याउने र ६० खर्बको अर्थतन्त्रलाई १०० खर्बमा विस्तार गर्ने लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न निजी क्षेत्रको मनोबल बढाउन आवश्यक रहेको धारणा व्यक्त गरिएको थियो।छलफलका क्रममा अर्थमन्त्री खनालले लगानीमैत्री वातावरण निर्माण र आर्थिक सुशासन कायम गर्न सुधारात्मक कदम चालिएको उल्लेख गर्दै बाँकी विषयबारे आगामी सरकारलाई सुझाव दिने प्रतिबद्धता जनाएका थिए। साथै, हालै सम्पन्न निर्वाचनपछि देशमा स्थिर सरकार बन्ने वातावरण बनेकाले व्यवसायिक वातावरण सुधार हुँदै गएको निजी क्षेत्रका प्रतिनिधिहरूले बताएका थिए।
Finance Minister Rameshwar Prasad Khanal has held discussions with representatives of major private sector organizations on current economic issues. The meeting, held on Thursday, was attended by Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Birendra Raj Pandey, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries, and Khemraj Bhandari, President of the Nepal Industry and Commerce Federation.During the discussion, the private sector raised concerns about the lack of implementation of the High-Level Economic Reform Commission’s recommendations, as well as the need for policy revisions to increase government revenue. Issues related to good governance and corruption control were also discussed. Business leaders emphasized the need to end the practice of keeping private sector-related files pending for long periods at different levels of government.The private sector also proposed several policy measures, including introducing a multi-rate VAT system, maintaining at least two tiers of tariff differences between raw materials and finished goods, promoting domestic production and exports, reviewing the effectiveness of regulatory bodies, and reducing high excise tax rates.Participants also stressed that expanding economic activities is essential to achieve the government’s long-term goals of around 7 percent economic growth, raising per capita income to about $3,000, and expanding the economy from around NPR 6 trillion to NPR 10 trillion. For this, they emphasized the importance of boosting the confidence of the private sector and addressing its concerns.Finance Minister Khanal stated that steps have already been taken to create an investment-friendly environment and strengthen economic governance, and he pledged to convey the remaining suggestions to the incoming government. Representatives of the private sector also expressed confidence that the recent election results could help form a stable government, which would contribute to improving the country’s business environment.
