वैदेशिक रोजगारीको नाममा लाखौँ ठगी, चार जना पक्राउFour Arrested for Defrauding Job Seekers in Foreign Employment Scam
वैदेशिक रोजगारीका लागि आकर्षक तलबसहित विभिन्न देश पठाइदिने प्रलोभन देखाएर लाखौँ रुपैयाँ ठगी गरेको आरोपमा प्रहरीले चार जनालाई पक्राउ गरेको छ। Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office ले काठमाडौँ र ललितपुरका विभिन्न स्थानबाट उनीहरूलाई पक्राउ गरी सार्वजनिक गरेको हो।
प्रहरीका अनुसार पक्राउ पर्नेहरूमा गोरखाको बारपाक सुलिकोट गाउँपालिका स्थायी घर भई हाल काठमाडौँ–२६ बस्दै आएका ३० वर्षीय दिपेश गुरुङ र २४ वर्षीय सौगात गुरुङ रहेका छन्। उनीहरूले टर्की पठाइदिने भन्दै आठ जना युवाबाट ८६ लाख २२ हजार ५ सय ७० रुपैयाँ असुलेको आरोप लागेको छ। रकम लिएपछि उनीहरू सम्पर्कविहीन बनेको पीडितहरूको जाहेरीमा उल्लेख छ। दुवै जनालाई जेठ ५ गते काठमाडौँको सामाखुसी क्षेत्रबाट पक्राउ गरिएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।
त्यसैगरी साइप्रस पठाइदिने आश्वासन दिएर एक जनाबाट ९ लाख ५० हजार रुपैयाँ ठगी गरेको आरोपमा पाँचथर फिदिमका ४८ वर्षीय सूर्यप्रकाश खेजुम पक्राउ परेका छन्। उनलाई ललितपुरको गोदावरी क्षेत्रबाट नियन्त्रणमा लिइएको हो।
यस्तै, लिथुआनिया पठाइदिने भन्दै रकम उठाएको आरोपमा काभ्रेपलाञ्चोक भुम्लु गाउँपालिकाकी ३३ वर्षीया शान्ति श्रेष्ठलाई पनि प्रहरीले पक्राउ गरेको छ। उनले एक जना पीडितबाट १ लाख ९३ हजार रुपैयाँ लिएको प्रहरीको भनाइ छ। उनलाई जेठ ६ गते काठमाडौँको ज्ञानेश्वरबाट पक्राउ गरिएको कार्यालयका सूचना अधिकारी प्रहरी उपरीक्षक रामेश्वर कार्कीले जानकारी दिए।
प्रहरी अनुसन्धानअनुसार पक्राउ परेकाहरूले बेरोजगार युवायुवतीलाई विदेशमा आकर्षक आम्दानी हुने कामको प्रलोभन देखाउँदै लामो समयसम्म झुक्याएर रकम असुल्ने गरेका थिए। रकम लिएपछि सम्पर्कविहीन हुने तथा विदेश पठाउने प्रक्रिया नै अघि नबढाउने गरेको प्रारम्भिक अनुसन्धानबाट खुलेको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।
पीडितहरूको उजुरीका आधारमा पक्राउ गरिएका चारै जनालाई थप अनुसन्धान तथा कारबाहीका लागि Department of Foreign Employment पठाइएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ।
Victims cheated of millions with false promises of jobs in Turkey, Cyprus and Lithuania
Police have arrested four individuals on charges of defrauding unemployed youths by promising foreign employment opportunities in various countries. The arrests were carried out by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office from different locations in Kathmandu and Lalitpur.
Among those arrested are 30-year-old Dipesh Gurung and 24-year-old Saugat Gurung, both originally from Barpak Sulikot in Gorkha and currently residing in Kathmandu-26. According to police, the two allegedly collected a total of NPR 8.62 million from eight victims by assuring them of employment opportunities in Turkey. Investigators say the suspects went out of contact after receiving the money. They were arrested from the Samakhusi area of Kathmandu on May 19.
In a separate case, 48-year-old Surya Prakash Khejum of Phidim, Panchthar, was arrested on allegations of cheating a victim out of NPR 950,000 by falsely promising to send him to Cyprus for foreign employment. Police apprehended him from the Godawari area of Lalitpur.
Similarly, 33-year-old Shanti Shrestha of Bhumlu, Kavrepalanchok, was arrested for allegedly defrauding another victim of NPR 193,000 with promises of employment in Lithuania. She was taken into custody from Gyaneshwor, Kathmandu, on May 20, according to police spokesperson Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Karki.
Police investigations indicate that the accused targeted unemployed youths by luring them with promises of attractive salaries and overseas job placements. After collecting large sums of money, they allegedly avoided further contact and failed to process the promised employment procedures.
Based on complaints filed by the victims, all four suspects have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation and legal action.
