Four Billion Case: Bhatt and Aggarwal Remanded for Three More Days
Deepak Bhatt and Shulabh Aggarwal, who are in custody as part of the ongoing investigation into the high-profile four billion rupee case, have had their detention extended by another three days. The Special Court granted permission to keep both individuals in remand as investigators continue to pursue the money laundering probe.
For Bhatt, this marks the eighth time his remand has been extended, while Aggarwal is facing his ninth such extension. The repeated prolonging of their custody points to the complexity of the case and suggests that investigators are yet to complete their work despite the considerable time both men have already spent behind bars.
The decision was handed down by a joint bench comprising Special Court members Narayanprasad Poudel and Umesh Koirala, who found sufficient grounds to authorise the continued detention of both suspects under the Asset Laundering Prevention Act.
The four billion rupee case has remained firmly in the public eye since it first came to light, drawing widespread attention from legal and political circles alike. With the investigation still ongoing and no final conclusion in sight, questions about when the probe will wrap up and what charges will ultimately be filed continue to linger.
