Four industries in Rupandehi that consumed electricity through dedicated and trunk lines have paid the first installment of their premium tariff dues to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Following the payment, their disconnected power lines have been reconnected.
According to NEA Executive Director Manoj Silwal, the industries operating in the Bhairahawa area — Panchakanya Plastic Industry, Panchakanya Steel Industries, Siddhartha Pet Plant, and Shyam Plastic — have settled the first installment of the premium charges for dedicated and trunk line usage from January 2016 to April 2018.
The outstanding amounts are as follows:
Panchakanya Plastic: Rs 2.463 million
Panchakanya Steel: Rs 5.219 million
Siddhartha Pet Plant: Rs 18.3 million
Shyam Plastic: Rs 4.91 million
The total dues have been divided into 28 installments, and the industries have paid the first installment. Power supply to these industries, which was previously disconnected due to non-payment, has now been restored, Silwal confirmed.
The NEA expects the industries to continue paying the remaining installments as scheduled.
