Kathmandu — In a dramatic escalation, Gen Z protesters stormed into the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar today. Smashing through the main gate, they forced their way inside and hurled stones. Police later responded with tear gas and water cannons, eventually pushing the protesters out of the building.
Despite the crackdown, the demonstrations have not stopped. Protesters remain active on the streets even after the District Administration Office issued a curfew order in the area.
The curfew was enforced after protesters not only broke into the Parliament building and vandalized its gates but also reached the security post and hoisted Nepal’s national flag there.
Security forces have tightened control around New Baneshwar, but Gen Z demonstrators continue their defiance, keeping the area tense and unstable.
