Gold and Silver Prices Hit Record

Kathmandu — Gold and silver prices in Nepal have surged to all-time highs in the domestic market, setting new records amid continued strength in global bullion prices.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold increased by Rs. 1,900 per tola on Monday, reaching a historic high of Rs. 260,700 per tola. This marks a sharp rise from the previous day’s price of Rs. 258,800 per tola and surpasses the earlier record set on October 17, 2025.

Similarly, the price of Tejabi gold climbed to Rs. 260,000 per tola, up from Rs. 258,100 per tola a day earlier.

Silver prices also followed an upward trend. The price of silver rose by Rs. 45 per tola to reach Rs. 3,870 per tola, the highest level recorded so far, compared to Rs. 3,825 per tola on the previous trading day.

Market participants attribute the continued rise in precious metal prices to global economic uncertainty, fluctuations in the US dollar, and strong international demand for safe-haven assets. Traders say the sustained increase in prices could affect jewellery demand in the domestic market in the coming days.
