Gold and silver prices recorded a significant rise in the Nepali market on Monday, January 5, 2026. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, the price of gold increased by NPR 4,600 per tola in a single day, reaching NPR 265,000 per tola. On Sunday, gold had been trading at NPR 260,400 per tola. The federation attributed the sharp increase to movements in the international market and changes in demand and supply.
Similarly, silver prices also surged notably. Silver rose by NPR 185 per tola and is being traded at NPR 4,685 per tola today, compared to NPR 4,500 per tola on Sunday. Market analysts say that volatility in the global market along with rising domestic demand has pushed both gold and silver prices higher in the local market.
