सुन आयातमा ४ महिनामै ५८०% को अप्रत्याशित वृद्धि, मूल्य आकासिँदा पनि खपत घटेनGold Imports Surge by 580% in the First Four Months of FY 2082/83
चालु आर्थिक वर्ष २०८२/०८३ को पहिलो चार महिनामा नेपालले अत्यधिक मात्रामा सुन आयात गरेको छ। भन्सार विभागका पछिल्ला तथ्याङ्कअनुसार गत आवको सोही अवधिको तुलनामा सुन आयात ५८० प्रतिशतले वृद्धि भएको हो।
गत वर्ष साउनदेखि कार्तिक मसान्तसम्म १३२ केजी सुन आयात हुँदा २८ करोड ५५ लाख रुपैयाँ राजस्व संकलन भएको थियो। तर यस वर्ष सोही अवधिमा ९०२ केजी सुन भित्रिएको छ, जसबाट १ अर्ब ५७ करोड २१ लाख रुपैयाँ राजस्व संकलन भएको छ। यसरी सुन आयातका कारण १५ अर्ब ७२ करोड ११ लाख रुपैयाँ देश बाहिरिएको छ — जुन गत वर्षको १ अर्ब ४२ करोड ७५ लाख भन्दा करिब दस गुणा बढी हो।
कार्तिक महिनामै ३०० केजी आयात, असोज एक्लैले ४०० केजी
पछिल्ला चार महिनामा आएको सुनमध्ये एक-तिहाइ हिस्सा कार्तिक महिनामा मात्रै भित्रिएको देखिन्छ। कार्तिकमा मात्रै ३०० केजी सुन आयात भएको भन्सार विभागले जनाएको छ।
यसअघि असोज मसान्तसम्म ६०० केजी सुन आयात भइसकेको थियो। नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले असोजको अन्तिम सातादेखि सुन आयात कोटा बढाएर २५ केजी पुर्याएपछि कार्तिकमा आयात ह्वात्तै बढेर ३०० केजी पुगेको हो।
चार महिनामध्ये सबैभन्दा धेरै सुन असोजमा आयात भएको छ। असोजमा मात्र ४०० केजी सुन भित्रिएको व्यवसायीहरू बताउँछन्। दशैं–तिहार लक्षित मागका कारण सो महिनामा आयात बढेको उनीहरूको धारणा छ।
साउन र भदौ महिनामा भने १००–१०० केजी का दरले सुन आयात भएको थियो।
मूल्य ५० दिनमै ५८ हजारले बढ्दा पनि खपतमा कमी आएन
नेपालमा पछिल्ला महिनामा सुनको मूल्य लगातार बढिरहेको छ।
भदौ ११ गते २ लाख रूपैयाँ को हाराहारीमा रहेको सुन असोज ३१ गते २ लाख ५८ हजार रुपैयाँ पुगेको थियो।
५० दिनको अवधिमा ५८ हजार रुपैयाँ ले मूल्य बढे पनि बजारको मागमा भने कमी देखिएन। व्यवसायीहरूका अनुसार मूल्य वृद्धि हुँदा पनि उपभोक्ता र व्यापारी दुबै पक्षबाट ‘भविष्यमा अझै महँगो हुन्छ’ भन्ने मनोविज्ञानले माग बढेको हो।
Nepal has witnessed an unprecedented rise in gold imports in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the Department of Customs, gold imports have increased by 580% compared to the same period last year.
In the first four months of last fiscal year, Nepal imported 132 kg of gold, generating Rs. 28.55 crore in revenue. This year, gold imports during the same period surged to 902 kg, resulting in Rs. 1.57 billion in revenue. The total outflow of money spent on gold imports stood at Rs. 15.72 billion, a massive jump from last year's Rs. 1.42 billion.
300 kg Imported in Kartik Alone; Asoj Leads With 400 kg
One-third of the total gold imported in the first four months arrived during Kartik. As per customs data, 300 kg of gold was imported in Kartik alone.
By the end of Asoj, total gold imports had already reached 600 kg. After the Nepal Rastra Bank increased the gold import quota to 25 kg per day in the final week of Asoj, gold imports spiked rapidly in Kartik.
Among the four months, Asoj recorded the highest import volume with 400 kg of gold. Traders attribute this surge to heavy demand during Dashain and Tihar. In the months of Shrawan and Bhadra, gold imports remained steady at 100 kg each.
Price Rose by Rs. 58,000 in 50 Days—Yet Demand Remained Intact
Gold prices in Nepal have been rising sharply in recent months.
On Bhadra 11, the price of gold stood around Rs. 200,000 per tola. By Asoj 31, the price climbed to Rs. 258,000, an increase of Rs. 58,000 within just 50 days.
Despite the steep rise, consumer demand did not fall. Traders say the perception that prices would increase even further encouraged people to buy more gold.
