सरकारले चार वटा जलविद्युत् आयोजनालाई राष्ट्रिय वन क्षेत्र प्रयोग गर्न स्वीकृति दिएको छ। आज प्रधानमन्त्री निवास बालुवाटारमा बसेको मन्त्रिपरिषद् बैठकले सुतीखोला जलविद्युत् आयोजना, तामाकोशी पाँचौँ जलविद्युत् आयोजना, माथिल्लो सङ्खुवासभा जलविद्युत् आयोजना र सेतीखोला जलविद्युत् आयोजनालाई राष्ट्रिय वन क्षेत्र प्रयोग गर्न अनुमति दिने निर्णय गरेको हो।

जलविद्युत् परियोजनाहरुको स्वीकृतिले नेपालको ऊर्जा क्षेत्रमा ठूलो सुधार ल्याउने अपेक्षा गरिएको छ। यी आयोजना प्रदेशीय विकास र राष्ट्रिय ऊर्जा आवश्यकतामा योगदान पुर्याउने छन्। तथापि, राष्ट्रिय वन क्षेत्रको प्रयोगको बारेमा वातावरणीय प्रभाव मूल्याङ्कन (EIA) लगायतका प्रक्रिया स्पष्ट गरी कार्यान्वयन गर्नुपर्ने चुनौती पनि रहेको छ।

बैठकले संघीय मामिला तथा सामान्य प्रशासन मन्त्रालयका सचिव चन्द्रकला पौडेललाई नेपाल बिमा प्राधिकरणको सञ्चालक समितिको अध्यक्ष पदमा कामकाज गर्ने गरी तोक्ने निर्णय पनि गरेको छ। गृहमन्त्री ओमप्रकाश अर्यालले यस निर्णयको जानकारी दिएका छन्।

यस प्रकारका निर्णयले नेपालको जलविद्युत् क्षेत्रमा नयाँ अवसरहरू सिर्जना गर्ने र सरकारको आगामी योजनामा थप सहयोग पुर्याउने छ।

The government has granted approval for four hydroelectric projects to use national forest areas. A meeting of the Council of Ministers, held today at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, approved the use of national forest areas for the Sutikhola Hydroelectric Project, the fifth Tamakoshi Hydroelectric Project, the Upper Sankhuwasabha Hydroelectric Project, and the Setikhola Hydroelectric Project.

This approval is expected to bring significant improvements to Nepal’s energy sector. These projects are anticipated to contribute to regional development and meet the country's energy needs. However, there is a challenge in ensuring the environmental impact assessment (EIA) and other procedures are clearly implemented when using national forest areas.

The meeting also decided to appoint Chandrakala Poudel, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, to serve as the chairperson of the board of directors of the Nepal Insurance Authority until further arrangements are made. Home Minister Omprakash Aryal provided this information regarding the decision.

These decisions are expected to create new opportunities in Nepal's hydroelectric sector and contribute to the government's future plans.
