Internal Revenue Operation Strategy, 2081 Issued

The Ministry of Finance has issued the Medium-Term Internal Revenue Operation Strategy, 2081, for the fiscal years 2081/82 to 2085/86. This strategy is designed to align with the 16th periodic plan to improve the country's tax system and administration.

Key Objectives:

  1. Promote Economic Efficiency and Equity:

    • Encourage private sector investment.

    • Ensure a stable flow of tax and non-tax revenue.

    • Contribute to budget deficit management.

  2. Tax Administration and Reforms:

    • Present a clear structural framework for tax policy and administration reforms.

    • Increase voluntary compliance of taxpayers with tax laws and operating systems.

    • Strengthen the risk management capacity of tax and customs administration.

    • Automate tax and customs administration.

Strategic Goals:

  • Increase in Revenue Operations: Enhance revenue operations from internal sources.

  • Coordination of Tax Revenue and GDP Ratio: Align the tax revenue-to-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio with the revenue targets set by the 16th Five-Year Plan.

This strategy aims to balance the necessary revenue operations for the country's socio-economic development with the aspirations of the private sector and taxpayers. It is expected to strengthen the country's economic structure while maintaining stability in the government's funds.
