इरान–अमेरिका वार्ता अनिर्णयमै टुङ्गियो, सम्झौताबारे अन्योल कायमैIran–US Talks End Without Decision, Uncertainty Over Deal Persists
काठमाडौं । इरानसँगको सम्भावित शान्ति सम्झौता र युद्धविराम विस्तारबारे ‘अन्तिम निर्णय’ लिन ह्वाइट हाउसको सिचुएसन रुममा बसेको उच्चस्तरीय बैठक कुनै निष्कर्षविनै टुङ्गिएको छ ।
राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पको राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षा टोलीसँग करिब दुई घण्टा चलेको बैठकपछि पनि ह्वाइट हाउसले सम्झौता स्वीकृत भए–नभएको आधिकारिक जानकारी दिएको छैन । ह्वाइट हाउसका एक अधिकारीका अनुसार ट्रम्पले अमेरिकाको हितमा हुने र आफ्ना ‘रेड लाइन’ पूरा हुने सम्झौतामा मात्रै हस्ताक्षर गर्नेछन् । इरानले कहिल्यै आणविक हतियार पाउन नदिने अडान पनि अमेरिकाले दोहोर्याएको छ ।
यसअघि दुवै देशले ६० दिने युद्धविराम विस्तार गर्ने र इरानको आणविक कार्यक्रमबारे औपचारिक वार्ता सुरु गर्ने गरी समझदारी पत्र (एमओयू) को मस्यौदा तयार पारेका थिए । तर शीर्ष नेतृत्वको अन्तिम स्वीकृतिविना यो खाका मात्रै रहने अमेरिकी अधिकारीहरूले स्वीकारेका छन् ।
बैठकअघि ट्रम्पले ‘ट्रुथ सोसल’ मार्फत कडा सर्तहरू सार्वजनिक गरेका थिए । इरानले आणविक हतियार नबनाउने सुनिश्चित गर्नुपर्ने, हर्मुज जलमार्ग तुरुन्त खुला गर्नुपर्ने र समुद्री माइन्स नष्ट गर्नुपर्ने उनको माग छ । तर इरानले यी दाबीलाई पूर्ण अस्वीकार गरेको छ ।
इरानी समाचार एजेन्सी ‘फार्स’ले ट्रम्पको भनाइलाई सत्य–झूटको मिश्रण भन्दै मस्यौदामा त्यस्ता कुनै सर्त नभएको जनाएको छ । विदेश मन्त्रालयका प्रवक्ता इस्माइल बगाइले हालसम्म कुनै अन्तिम सम्झौता नभएको र वार्ता युद्ध अन्त्यमै केन्द्रित रहेको स्पष्ट पारेका छन् ।
यसैबीच मध्यपूर्वको युद्ध भने झन् उग्र बनेको छ । इजरायलले लेबनानमा इरान समर्थित हिजबुल्लाहविरुद्ध आक्रमण तीव्र पारेको छ । लेबनान सरकारका अनुसार इजरायली आक्रमणमा अहिलेसम्म ३,२०० भन्दा बढी मानिस मारिएका छन् भने लाखौं विस्थापित भएका छन् ।
Kathmandu — A high-level meeting held in the White House Situation Room to make a "final decision" on a possible peace deal with Iran and an extension of the ceasefire has ended without any conclusion.
Even after the roughly two-hour meeting between President Donald Trump and his national security team, the White House has not given any official word on whether the deal was approved. According to a White House official, Trump will sign only a deal that serves US interests and meets his "red lines." The US also reiterated its position that Iran will never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.
Earlier, the two countries had drafted a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend the 60-day ceasefire and begin formal talks on the future of Iran's nuclear programme. However, US officials have acknowledged that without final approval from the top leadership, it remains only a framework.
Ahead of the meeting, Trump had made his tough conditions public through "Truth Social." His demands include ensuring that Iran never builds nuclear weapons, immediately opening the Strait of Hormuz, and destroying the sea mines placed there. Iran, however, has completely rejected these claims.
Iranian news agency "Fars" described Trump's statements as a mix of truth and falsehood, saying the draft contained no such conditions. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei made it clear that no final deal has been reached so far and that the talks remain focused solely on ending the war.
Meanwhile, the conflict in the Middle East has grown more intense. Israel has stepped up its attacks against the Iran-backed Hizbullah in Lebanon. According to the Lebanese government, more than 3,200 people have been killed in Israeli attacks so far, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced.
