दक्षिण कोरियाको राजधानी सिओलमा आयोजित एघारौँ ‘ग्लोबल आइसिटी लिडरसिप फोरम’मा सहभागी हुन पुगेका सञ्चार तथा सूचना प्रविधिमन्त्री जगदीश खरेलले नेपालमा कृत्रिम बौद्धिकता (एआई) प्रवर्द्धनका लागि नयाँ उर्जा प्राप्त भएको बताएका छन्। ‘सिओल एआई स्मार्ट सिटी सेन्टर’को अवलोकनपछि मन्त्री खरेलले एआई नेपाललाई सूचना प्रविधिका माध्यमबाट समृद्धितर्फ अघि लैजान महत्वपूर्ण सहयोगी उपकरण बन्ने विश्वास व्यक्त गरे।
स्मार्ट सिटी सेन्टरका गतिविधिबारे विस्तृत जानकारी लिएपछि मन्त्री खरेलले कोरियाको एआई विकास मोडेलबाट नेपालमा स्थापनाको सुरुआत भएको एआई केन्द्रलाई थप प्रभावकारी रूपमा सञ्चालन गर्न उपयोगी ज्ञान र व्यवहारिक दृष्टिकोण प्राप्त भएको बताए। उनले भने, “कोरियाको एआई स्मार्ट सिटी सेन्टरबाट नेपालको एआई केन्द्रलाई अझ सबल बनाउन ज्ञान मिलेको छ, यसले हाम्रो केन्द्रलाई प्रभावकारी बनाउनेछ।”
उनका अनुसार एआईका माध्यमबाट प्राप्त विश्वव्यापी अवसर, राष्ट्रनिर्माणमा यसको उपयोग र भविष्यको सम्भावनाबारे कोरियाली विज्ञहरूसँग समेत फलदायी छलफल भएको थियो।
मन्त्री खरेलले ‘डिजिटल नेपाल’ तथा ‘डिजिटल ट्रान्सफर्मेसन’का लक्ष्यहरूलाई अघि बढाउन यो फोरम अत्यन्तै उपलब्धिमूलक भएको उल्लेख गर्दै नेपालले एआई प्रविधिको विकास तथा उपयोगलाई प्राथमिकतामा राख्ने स्पष्ट संकेत दिएका छन्।
Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, who is currently in Seoul to participate in the 11th Global ICT Leadership Forum, has said that the visit has provided fresh motivation and energy to advance Artificial Intelligence (AI) development in Nepal.
After observing the Seoul AI Smart City Center, Minister Kharel noted that the Korean model of AI-driven urban development offers important insights for Nepal. He stated that AI will play a crucial role in steering the country toward prosperity through the effective use of information technology.
According to the Minister’s private secretariat, he was briefed on the center’s operations and activities, after which he remarked, “The knowledge gained from Korea’s AI Smart City Center will help us strengthen Nepal’s recently established AI Center. It will significantly contribute to enhancing its capabilities.”
Minister Kharel further expressed his commitment to making Nepal’s AI Center more effective. He also held discussions with experts on AI-related opportunities, its potential use in nation-building, and future prospects.
He said the Global ICT Leadership Forum has been highly productive and meaningful for Nepal’s broader goals of Digital Nepal and Digital Transformation, adding that the experience will support Nepal’s next steps in adopting and expanding AI technologies.
