The monsoon remains active across eastern and central parts of Nepal. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, monsoon winds are currently influencing all areas of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces, with partial influence extending to eastern parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Western and local winds continue to dominate the remaining regions.

The department has forecast that monsoon will extend to Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces within the next two to three days.

For today, cloudy skies are expected nationwide. Hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are likely to receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for one or two locations in Koshi province. Some Terai areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces may also experience strong winds and squalls during the day.

Cloudy conditions will persist through the night as well. Koshi province faces the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few locations. Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may also see heavy rain at isolated spots, while hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces could receive moderate showers with thunder.

The department has urged residents, particularly in Koshi province and the Terai belt, to remain alert and take necessary precautions given the risk of strong winds and heavy downpours through the night.

पूर्वी र मध्य नेपालमा मनसुनी वायुको प्रभाव जारी छ। जल तथा मौसम विज्ञान विभागका अनुसार कोशी, मधेस र बागमती प्रदेशमा मनसुन पूर्णरूपमा सक्रिय छ भने गण्डकी र लुम्बिनी प्रदेशको पूर्वी भागमा आंशिक प्रभाव रहेको छ। बाँकी क्षेत्रमा पश्चिमी र स्थानीय वायुको प्रभाव कायम छ।

आगामी दुई–तीन दिनभित्र गण्डकी, लुम्बिनी, कर्णाली र सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेशमा पनि मनसुन फैलिने विभागले अनुमान गरेको छ।

आज दिउँसो देशभर बादलमय रहनेछ। कोशी, बागमती र गण्डकी प्रदेशका पहाडी तथा हिमाली भू–भागका धेरै स्थानमा मेघगर्जन र चट्याङसहित मध्यम वर्षाको सम्भावना छ। कोशी प्रदेशका एक–दुई स्थानमा भारी वर्षाको चेतावनी जारी गरिएको छ। कोशीको तराई र मधेस प्रदेशका केही स्थानमा हावाहुरीको पनि खतरा रहेको छ।

राति पनि देशभर बादल लाग्नेछ। कोशी प्रदेशका केही स्थानमा भारीदेखि अति भारी वर्षा हुन सक्ने विभागको अनुमान छ। मधेस, बागमती र गण्डकी प्रदेशका एक–दुई स्थानमा पनि भारी वर्षाको सम्भावना रहेको छ।

विभागले कोशी प्रदेश तथा तराई क्षेत्रका बासिन्दालाई हावाहुरी र भारी वर्षाको जोखिमलाई मध्यनजर राख्दै सतर्क रहन आग्रह गरेको छ।
