राष्ट्रिय आर्थिक गणना ८७ प्रतिशत सम्पन्न, आठ लाखभन्दा बढी फारम वितरणNational Economic Census 87 Percent Complete, Over 800,000 Forms Distributed

National Statistics Office has announced that 87.08 percent of the country’s second National Economic Census 2025 has been completed so far. The progress update was shared during a press conference held at the office in Thapathali on Monday.

According to Deputy Chief Statistics Officer Dhundiraj Lamichhane, the census, which began on April 15, will continue until June 21. Field enumerators across the country have already distributed more than 800,000 paper forms and over 10,000 e-census tokens as part of the data collection process.

Chief Statistics Officer Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokharel said the economic census will serve as an important foundation for understanding the actual condition of businesses, enterprises, employment, and economic activities in Nepal. He stated that the collected data will help strengthen national accounts and improve estimates related to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and other economic indicators.

The office said the census aims to collect detailed information on business structures, the number of enterprises, employment conditions, and broader economic activities across the country. The findings are expected to support federal, provincial, and local governments in formulating and evaluating economic policies, development plans, and public programs.

The National Statistics Office has urged businesses and institutions to cooperate by providing accurate information during the census process. It has also requested support from media organizations, especially radio broadcasters, to help raise public awareness and facilitate smoother data collection nationwide.
