Nepal Rastra Bank Publishes Monthly Balance Sheet for Bhadra 2082

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published its monthly financial statement (provisional balance sheet) for the month of Bhadra 2082.
According to the report, NRB’s total assets stood at Rs. 28.46 trillion at the end of Bhadra, compared to Rs. 26.59 trillion at the end of Ashadh.
Foreign Currency Position
Total foreign currency assets reached Rs. 27.48 trillion in Bhadra.
This marks an increase from Rs. 25.67 trillion in Ashadh.
These assets include deposits with foreign banks, investments in foreign securities, gold certificates, and IMF-related assets.
Local Currency Position
Local currency assets amounted to Rs. 985.12 billion at the end of Bhadra.
This is higher than Rs. 920.22 billion in Ashadh.
The assets consist of government securities, deposits with commercial banks, loans and advances, gold and silver holdings, as well as fixed assets.
Liabilities & Equity
NRB’s total liabilities stood at Rs. 20.49 trillion in Bhadra, up from Rs. 18.94 trillion in Ashadh.
Equity capital remained unchanged at Rs. 5 billion, while reserves increased to Rs. 7.85 trillion.
The latest balance sheet highlights a significant rise in foreign exchange reserves alongside steady growth in local currency assets, indicating stronger financial positioning for the central bank.
