Nepal Rastra Bank to Invest NPR 1.15 Billion in Fixed Deposits

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to invest NPR 1.15 billion from its gratuity and pension fund as fixed deposits in banks and financial institutions. The central bank has invited proposals from banks regarding interest rates for this investment.
According to NRB, NPR 920 million will be allocated to commercial banks, NPR 172.5 million to national-level development banks, and NPR 57.5 million to finance companies. Banks and financial institutions can submit their interest rate proposals until 7 PM on March 19, 2025.
The investment, spanning 366 days, will commence on March 24, 2025, and continue until March 23, 2026, as per the central bank’s statement.
